The Time I Trusted the Map — and How It Led Me Astray
Building Arise & Shine Transporters, I made a wrong assumption about how GPS data would work in rural Kenya. This mistake taught me the value of listening closely to the real-world conditions that AI tools must navigate.
I believed that GPS data would behave predictably — that coordinates would align with roads, that distances would be consistent, and that the map would always match the ground. But I was wrong. I assumed that the same GPS telemetry systems used in urban areas would work just as well in the rural roads of Kenya. That assumption led me into a costly and time-consuming loop of debugging and rework.
